Allow me (Lisa Bray) to introduce another Great-Great Grandmother, Emma J. (Locket) Greene. She too was born in Ablemarle County, Virginia, around 1866, to the parents of James and Izaetta Locket. Emma was a very strong-willed woman that was determined to witness the success of her family. Like many families today, Emma and her seven children, lived separately from her husband in the early 1900s. She and the children lived in North Garden, Virginia and in those days North Garden’s economy was largely based on lumber and farming. Emma’s husband, Elijah, lived and worked in the thriving coal mine industry near Vanderbilt, Pennsylvania. The really cool thing is that he lived with Moses and Amanda Moon. He’s listed as a boarder in their home in the 1900 census. By the 1910 census, the Greene family was reunited in Vanderbilt.
