Georgianna (McKnuckles) Mills

This is my (Shawna Ferguson) Great Great Grandmother, Reverend Georgianna (McKnuckles) Mills who was born in the 1870’s in Wythe County, Virginia. Georgianna married Elder John Mills at the beginning of the 20^th century.  The Mills’ started building their family of eight children in Virginia before moving to Lawrence County, Ohio between 1910 and 1920.  The Mills’ formed their own church with the structure being built in front of the family home.  Georgianna continued to be a pastor in the church for 39 years.  She loved the Lord, her church, and most of all – her family.  It is for these reasons that Georgianna is one of Deep Roots’ spokeswomen.
