The Journey Continues

Mom, your life’s journey has been a lesson in resilience and blessings.   From being raised by one of the strongest people ever (Minnie Lou) while being surrounded by an amazing and loving family.   To becoming a boisterous and sometime rambunctious youth.   To becoming a proud single mother to myself and Patience.  And after many trials and tribulations, ultimately answering the call to be an ordained minister.  You have come a long way, Karen Marie! 

You’ve continued to be a pillar of support not just for our extended family, but for your friends and the community.   You are the “go-to” — the person that people reach out to if they need words of encouragement, positive energy, and sometimes….just a hug.          

The courage you’ve shown in each step of your path has not only shaped your life but has also influenced my own path.  I am so proud of the journeys you have taken and continue to take.  They have gifted me with a love of family, friends, music, and joy that sticks with me each day.     

So let’s always celebrate each milestone, each win, and even the setbacks, since they are also part of life’s journey.  Thank you for every sacrifice, every word of reassurance, and of course every hug.
