Finding Deep Roots is an independently owned small business started by two career professionals, Lisa Richardson-Bray and Shawna Ferguson. These ladies have developed a love for researching genealogical information of their family and others over the past fifteen years. Uncovering people and facts that have been lost for decades has been a source of joy and pleasure. Spending hours in libraries, churches, courthouses and online searches reviewing public records to find treasures of family history. I also have a passion for genealogy and the connections that are restored through a discovery of mine; whether for my family or another. I can’t describe the joy I find when I extend a branch of a family tree or even just add a leaf. This to me is the true meaning of Sankofa.
